Mr C. B. Nelson is a member of an old and respected Bride family. He was Chairman of the Manx Northern Railway Company, and had been a director of Dumbell's Bank for many years. His father and grandfather were Rectors of Bride.
One of the accused in Dumbell's bank Trial - found guilty and received five years penal servitude for fraudulent appropriation, and three years penal servitude for publication of false balance sheets, the sentences to be concurrent. After this briefly went to Canada but by October 1905 was back in Ramsey working as a lawyer's clerk. and had paid off 1s in £ of his debts. In 1907 re-admitted to the Manx Bar by order of Lieut.Governor Raglan!. Physically was a big man and well-liked by all in Ramsey. Died in June 1935 and buried at Bride; his funeral being attended by most of the Manx legal profession.
Two of his sons were killed in WW1 and rewarded for gallantry
